Self Health -- When Less is More

In Self Health a person can start thinking that more is better.  I'm talking about the temptation to start taking a whole bunch of new supplements at once.  "Why?" you say, "What's wrong with that?"  Well, for one thing, it can cause confusion!

Some products, though they are excellent, may require a slow, gradual increase in the amount taken to avoid a herxheimer reaction. The herx isn't a bad thing, but it can be very uncomfortable.  The reason for the herx is that the product is detoxifying (i.e. oxygen therapy products like Homozon or OxyLift), or it is helping a particular organ function more efficiently.  Often, when the body gets a little help it will start "cleaning house,"  throwing out dead cells, dumping toxins.

Let's suppose you start taking two, three, or even four new supplements at the same time.  After a few days you start to get some unusual symptoms or an exacerbation of previous symptoms.  How are you going to figure out what may be causing the discomfort?  It can be terribly frustrating and confusing to get into that kind of situation.

It's really much better to start one new thing at a time, get used to that, then start another one if you want.
